Sixteen-year-old Rayna sees angels, and has the medication and weekly therapy sessions to prove it. Now, in remission, Rayna starts fresh at a new school, lands a new job, and desperately tries for normalcy. She ignores signs that she may be slipping into the world she has tried so hard to climb out of. But these days, it’s more than just hallucinations that keep Rayna up at night. Students are dying, and she may be the only one who can stop it. Can she keep her job, her sanity, and her friends from dying at the hands of angels she can't admit to seeing?

This book has completely caught me off guard. I thought it would be good but I didn't know it would be amazing!! I mean look at that COVER who could turn away from it?? It draws you in immediately. Then you step into the book and realize its better then you could have expected. Rayna is the main character and she has secrets. She can see angels or well she just believes their wings, angels can't be real right?? This book did take me a while to really get caught up in it, but I sure did within a couple chapters. It wasn't that the book was boring it was just a slow progression.

Ray is just getting back to normal, shes not seeing wings anymore and she's applying for a job at the local diner. They may wear ugly uniforms but she could use a dose of normalcy. The only problem....she thinks she saw a pair of wings on a guy across the road, then there gone. There's another problem...what will her father think of her getting a job, will he tell her the stress will just take her back a step and have to send her to the SS Crazy (Mental Institute she attended) again??? She can't let that happen.

Lee (her best friend) is oblivious to the mental struggle Ray is going through. Can she find her balance staying sane and being a friend with a secret that could potentially have Lee running for the hills?? Then shes hit full force with bright shinny wings right in her classroom, she knows right then and there shes slipping. Could the new kid be causing all the murders? Ray has nothing else to do but explore the unknown that maybe shes not crazy at all, and she really can see wings. The new guy Cam could be right in the middle of it. Will she take the chance to figure it out or will she fall prey to her own mind and be sent away in a straight jacket??

She knows knowledge is power so she sets out to explore the unknown and figure it out. Kade is another angel she finds with the wings the color of the sky at night and glitters like the stars. Shes mesmerized by the power he holds, but he could be the one she should be afraid of. With danger at her door who can Ray come to depend on and trust? Will Kade's humanity save her? Can Cam break the rules to save her?? Will the dark envelope her in Hell and force her to use her gift as a weapon to bring darkness upon Earth.

I LOVE this book. Like as soon as it comes out I'm buying it and then so with the ones after. I love how real it seems, Rays emotions are right there and you feel them. You feel her panic and you even feel the other characters feelings. There is a major love triangle here and its really hard to pick sides, but if my readers know me then they know I always chose the darker character. I really don't know what it is but I love a bad boy :) Team Kade all the way!!

I give this book a big 5 out of 5 stars. I can't resist this book and can't wait to read more from Lisa Basso!!

~Good Readings~
